ZeroCents Privacy Policy
ZeroCents
takes seriously the issue of safeguarding your privacy online. Please
read the following to understand our views and practices regarding
this matter, and how they pertain to you as you make full use of
our many offerings. This statement discloses the privacy practices
for the entire website.
As a leading IP service provider, ZeroCents is committed to respecting
the privacy of all visitors to www.zerocents.com. Although we track
the total number of visitors to each of our sites in an aggregate
form to allow us to update and improve our sites, personally identifiable
information is not extracted in this process. If a visitor enters
our site from the site of one of ZeroCents's partners, our system
will recognize the path the visitor has taken. Additionally, if
someone who is not a ZeroCents Internet member tries to access proprietary
ZeroCents Internet content and is redirected to www.zerocents.com,
our system will recognize the path the visitor has taken.
ZeroCents only collects personally identifiable data, such as names,
addresses, e-mail addresses, and the like, when voluntarily submitted
by a visitor who requests that ZeroCents software be sent to him
or her, either through a download or through a land carrier. The
information we collect is used by us to follow up on these orders
and is not shared with other organizations for commercial purposes.
If you supply us with your postal address online you may receive
periodic mailings of our software.
ZeroCents will respond to visitors who send us e-mail to particular
addresses, for example, regarding advertising, partnering, or employment
opportunities. ZeroCents will use the information submitted in those
e-mails only to respond to the purpose specified by the sender.
ZeroCents does not sell or release any information gathered on www.zerocents.com
to any third parties. All information gathered here will be used
only by ZeroCents for internal marketing analysis and to improve
our products, services and websites.
Please keep in mind that whenever you give out personal information
online for example, via message boards or chat, that information
can be collected and used by people you don't know. While ZeroCents
strives to protect its user's personal information and privacy,
we cannot guarantee the security of any information you disclose
online and you do so at your own risk.
ZeroCents's policy does not extend to anything that is inherent
in the operation of the Internet, and therefore beyond ZeroCents's
control, and is not to be applied in any manner contrary to applicable
law or governmental regulation.
Users should be aware that when you are on ZeroCents, you could
be directed to other sites that are beyond our control. There are
links to other sites from ZeroCents pages that take you outside
our service. For example, if you "click" on a banner advertisement
or a ZeroCents search result, the "click" takes you off
the ZeroCents site. This includes links from advertisers, channel
sponsors and partners that may use ZeroCents's logo as part of a
co-branding agreement. These other sites may send their own cookies
to users, collect data or solicit personal information. Always be
aware of where you end up!
ZeroCents asks that visitors providing us personally identifiable
information be 18 years of age or older. However, ZeroCents believes
that parents should supervise their children's online activities
and consider using parental control tools, online services and software
manufacturers that help provide a kid-friendly online environment.
Please instruct your children not to give us their name, address
or e-mail address, sign up to receive our software, or provide any
other personal information to anyone without your permission. For
additional information about parental control tools, please consult
the Privacy Action section of the Direct Marketing Association's
website (www.the-dma.org).
ZeroCents takes special care to protect the safety and privacy of
young people using our services. Safeguarding the personal information
of children is extremely important. For those ZeroCents sites specifically
directed at children, and where users have indicated they are younger
than 18, ZeroCents sites will collect the minimum amount of personal
information necessary to the operation of the service. These ZeroCents
sites will also send follow-up mail to the user's e-mail address
instructing them to seek parental permission for their use of the
site. A child's personal information will be used for the operation
of the service but it will not be used for secondary uses without
a parent's permission. We do not specifically collect information
about children and believe that children should get their parents'
consent before giving out any personal information. We encourage
you to participate in your child's experience in cyberspace and
to review our important safety tips before your child explores the
Internet. We also recommend using web filtering technology to supervise
your children's access to the Web.
We do not use or disclose information about your individual visits
to ZeroCents or information that you may give us, such as your name,
address, email address or telephone number, to any outside companies.
But as we mention above, we may share with our website partners
aggregated statistical "ratings" information about the
use of ZeroCents.
There are cases where ZeroCents may ask you for personal information
such as your name or address. We do this when you register for contests/promotions
or services that require registration or subscription. ZeroCents
needs to collect this information for fulfilling prizes, tracking/verifying
compliance with ZeroCents policies as well as federal, state and
local laws and/or for editorial and feedback solicitation purposes.
When we intend to use your personal information, we tell you up
front. This way you can decide whether you want to give us the information
or not. For example, we may want to post the names of contest winners
on our site or send you materials via e-mail or regular mail at
your request. In case you change your mind or some personal information
may change (such as your marital status), we will endeavor to provide
a way to correct, update or remove the personal data you give us.
This policy applies only to ZeroCents and websites that carry the
ZeroCents brand, and not to other companies' or organizations' web
sites to which we link. We have clearly marked ZeroCents and these
branded websites with our logo so you know where this policy applies.
ZeroCents reserves the right to change this policy at any time.
If we decide to change our privacy policy for ZeroCents, we will
post those changes here so that you will always know what information
we gather, how we might use that information and whether we will
disclose it to anyone.
Activation and cancellation policy
All accounts are prepaid monthly. The recurring payments for HTT accounts occur three days prior to the anniversary date.
As
an example, if a customer signs up for service on November 12, they will be charged on the 9th of December.
If notice to cancel is not received 3 days prior to the anniversary date of the account, they will be charged. To ensure this
does not happen, it is recommended that customers either call or email to the High Tech Telecom corporate office within said
time frame.
The policy for charging a prorated share of the monthly fee is for new customers within their first month of service. As an
example, you signed up for residential service (or any other HTT service) on November 12. If you wish to cancel service after
a week, you can simply notify the corporate office, and a prorated share for the remainder of your monthly fee will be
returned. However, once you have stayed past your first month, the cancellation policy above holds true.
